Trails along Seven Persons Creek have been closed, the city announced Wednesday. Barricades will be in place to deter people from using the trail until further notice.

It is a precautionary safety measure due to rising water levels, a news release stated.

Trails affected are the Kin Coulee south tunnel, trails along Dunmore Road, Scholten Hill and at Highway 41A.

St. Mary’s River Irrigation District announced efforts to manage reservoir and waterway levels, including increasing flow from the Murray Reservoir. This means “Seven Persons Creek will likely see water levels near or at bank-full levels.”

Residents are reminded to remain a safe distance from the banks of all waterways and be very cautious.
