Medicine Hat News City crews have initiated the 2018 street sweeping program. Work has begun in high traffic areas, and night shift crews will be cleaning traffic islands, boulevards and bridges starting this week. Once these areas are completed, crews will begin daytime sweeping in the 17 residential zones. Residents should watch for no-parking signs, which will be placed at least 12 hours prior to sweeping. In addition, all curb ramps and other objects must be removed from city streets. The parking ban allows city crews the ability to effectively clean roads for all users. For this year’s sweeping map, information about the street sweeping activities and program progress please visit the city website. Spring sweeping is an annual program that removes sanding materials and debris accumulated on roads and along major sidewalks and boulevards during the winter months. 7
