Medicine Hat News Medicine Hat’s City Centre Development Agency announced this year’s Spectrum Festival will be taking place at Kin Coulee Park. According to a press release sent out by the CCDA, the Spectrum board of directors opted to hold the festival downtown this year, but the CCDA is hoping to get the event back in coming years. “The Spectrum Board of Directors has elected to leave downtown and relocate Spectrum to Kin Coulee park for 2018,” the release stated. “Spectrum has never been a CCDA event but was partially supported by a $2,500 grant to keep the event downtown. $2,500 was budgeted towards welcoming Spectrum back downtown in 2018. These funds will be reallocated to other downtown projects. The CCDA is hoping to bring Spectrum back downtown in the future and will offer its support at that time.” The CCDA also announced Friday it would be supporting a Downtown Cruise Night event, which will be held and run by the directors of Cypress Rod and Custom Car Club. The event will showcase a number of cars from around the world, slated for Aug. 18. 7
