Redcliff RCMP have arrested two people in connection with a robbery that took place in Swift Current.

RCMP report that on March 14, the Redcliff Integrated Traffic unit was patrolloing Highway 1 near Range Road 101 in Cypress County when they observed a motor vehicle parked off the highway with two occupants inside.

Due to a recent increase in rural property crimes in the county, a query was conducted on the Saskatchewan plated vehicle and it was discovered the vehicle was associated with a recent robbery that occurred in Swift Current earlier that morning.

There were descriptors of the vehicle, its occupants and damage caused when they fled the scene, which all matched the vehicle before them.

Redcliff RCMP members detained and arrested both occupants based on the robbery, and discovered they were both breaching conditions of a previous release from Manitoba.

A search of the vehicle yielded a large amount of cash associated with the Saskatchewan theft, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as other items associated with the theft.

Robyn Boersma of Carberry, Man., has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to comply with a recognizance, failing to comply with a probation order, simple possession of methampehtampine and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Jordan Harkness-Brown, also of Carberry, Man., has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts of fail to comply with undertaking, simple possession of meth and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Both are being held at the Medicine Hat Remand Centre awaiting their return to Saskatchewan to face numerous charges in relation to the theft over $5,000 and numerous breaches. Harkness-Brown’s next court appearance is set for March 27.
