Live cattle on Trans-Canada Highway after collisions near Brooks

By Medicine Hat News on March 16, 2018.

Brooks RCMP are dealing with two serious collisions this morning owing to heavy fog on the Trans-Canada Highway, including a crash that has left live cattle milling about on the highway.

A release from the Brooks detachment states the No. 1 Highway west of that city has its westbound lanes reduced to a single lane. The reduction could last until noon. Motorists are asked to slow down to accommodate animals and emergency crews working in the areas of the Highway 36 intersection as well as Range Road 156.

Heavy fog in the area greatly reduced visibility at the time of the collisions, one of which involved a cattle hauler.
