Teenager charged with weekend stabbing at Vauxhall house party

A teenager has been charged with stabbing another male at a house party in Vauxhall over the weekend, RCMP in that town announced on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say they were called to the scene at 4:45 a.m. on Saturday and found that one male had suffered a single, non-life-threatening stab wound. He was transported to hospital in Taber. The suspect fled on foot, but was apprehended several blocks away hiding in an unlocked car.

The suspect, a youth who cannot be named, has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

He was released on condition he will appear in court on March 23 at Taber provincial courthouse.

The alleged victim has been released from hospital.
