Innisfail

One man is in custody after being found hiding in the ceiling of a gas station following a break and enter.

On February 19th at approximately 2 a.m. Innisfail RCMP were alerted to an alarm at the Penhold Fas Gas. Police arrived and searched the property not noting any damage and no sign of entry. Then at 3 a.m., the store manager arrived to check the business and noted some damage and called police to return.

Upon unlocking the door to the store, the damage to the business became obvious. RCMP were called back, and while inside the station, an officer heard noises coming from the ceiling. One man was apprehended.

Estimated damages are well above $5,000. The male has been identified as 21 year old Jordan Bell-Blowers of Lacombe Alberta.

Leduc

RCMP’s Drug Unit has charged one man after he rammed police vehicles while attempting to flee police.

Members of the Leduc RCMP’s Drug Unit were conducting an operation targeted at drug trafficking on Feb. 15, and when attempting to arrest the man, he attempted to escape by ramming his vehicle through police cars.

Although his actions caused extensive damage to multiple police vehicles, he was quickly taken into custody. No officers were injured.

Daniel Nguyen, age 27, of Edmonton has been charged with multiple drug trafficking charges, resisting arrest, possessing property obtained by crime, operating a motor vehicle while being pursued by police, and dangerous driving.

Siksika Nation, Alberta

Two people were arrested following an investigation into a stolen vehicle out of Calgary.

On February 19, Gleichen RCMP located the vehicle in Siksika Nation and activated the emergency lights, but the vehicle fled from Police. The vehicle was located a short time later, abandoned and unoccupied.

With the assistance of Police Dog Services (PDS) and the Bassano RCMP, two suspects were located and taken into custody. One individual sustained minor injuries and was treated medically for non-life threatening injuries.

An 18-year-old man from Siksika Nation, as well as a youth were arrested and charged.

Innisfail

Two people have been arrested thanks to a rural resident who was suspicious about a car stuck in a ditch near the Pine Lake Whispering Pines golf course.

On Feb. 15, at 5:55 p.m., the resident contacted police after observing the vehicle. RCMP responded and confirmed that the vehicle was stolen —they attempted to pull it over, however it did not stop.

The vehicle continued for some distance and eventually lost control after hitting a tire deflation deviceand entered the ditch and became stuck.

A man and a woman from Red Deer were subsequently arrested and charged.

Morinville

Police are requesting public assistance in identifying three suspects who broke and entered into a dinosaur theme park in Morinville.

RCMP responded to the break and enter Jurassic Forest Theme Park near Gibbons, Alta. on Feb. 2 at 5:24 a.m., and upon arrival found the large gate at the entrance to the park had been compromised and entered

Once inside, the business suspects stole numerous items including a number of electronics including computer towers, and gift shop merchandise including large glass figurines of dinosaurs and dinosaur skull replicas.

Video surveillance shows a U-haul cube van enter the property with three men entering the business.

The first suspect was wearing black pants and black winter Canada Goose parka, a grey hoodie with the hood up, and white and black gloves.

The second suspect was wearing blue jeans, gray sweater or jacket under a black jacket with white and grey strike, a grey hood up, and black and yellow gloves. The suspect had a mustache and goatee and was carrying a crowbar.

The third suspect was wearing blue jeans, a black bomber style winter jacket, black gloves and black balaclava.
