Bassano RCMP seek man for alleged TCH assault

Bassano RCMP is investigating after receiving report of a woman being assaulted at the side of the Trans-Canada Highway.

On Feb. 17, at 10:10 a.m., RCMP were dispatched after receiving a complaint of a woman being assaulted by a man outside a pickup truck parked on the westbound shoulder of the highway near Duck Lake, approximately two kilometres west of Bassano.

The complainant reported witnessing the man assault the woman and then push her into the passenger side of the pickup truck. The man then got in the driver side of the anddroveoff. The truck was last seen travellingnorthon TownshipRoad 220.

Members of the Bassano and Brooks RCMP responded and made extensive patrols. The information was immediately passed to all southern Alberta and Saskatchewan police agencies to be on the lookout for this truck. To date, the pickup truck or its occupants have not been located or identified.

The truck is described as anewer model black extended cab pickup truck with a chrome brush bar. The truck was described by the witness as having a partial Saskatchewan Licence Plate of #4NY.

The male occupant was described as a Caucasian, in his 40s,average build with a moustache and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The female was described as being in her 30s, long blonde hair, wearing a light coloured top or dress.
