Medicine Hat News There was “extensive damage” to a residence Wednesday morning, as local firefighters responded to a structure fire at a local trailer park. Deputy fire chief Lance Purcell said firefighters responded to the call at 7:50 a.m. when a passerby called it in. Three fire stations responded to the residence, a double-wide trailer at Tower Estates, located near the Medicine Hat Regional Airport. The windows broke just as crews arrived, said Purcell, with firefighters having the blaze under control minutes later, knocking down the fire on the outside first, then inside. The trailer experienced “extensive damage,” said Purcell, but the damage was contained to just the one residence, and no damage to neighbours. There were no injuries, said Purcell, while the homeowner wasn’t inside the residence at the time of the fire but soon arrived at the scene after firefighters did. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, he said, with the investigation still underway. 9
