Firearms, drugs seized in Medicine Hat

Three firearms, nearly 100 grams of methamphetamine and smaller amounts of cocaine and fentanyl are off the streets following an investigation by ALERT’s Medicine Hat organized crime team.

A Smith and Wesson handgun, two 22-caliber rifles and 128 rounds of ammunition were taken from the suspects.

Four people were arrested and charged with a total of 38 offences following the seizure on Jan. 30.

Three males, Lane Hogg, 34, Riley Lundy, 24, and Cory Rieger, 42, as well as Alicia Myles, 29 each face multiple charges.

Hogg’s charges include four counts of drug trafficking, trafficking a firearm and close to a dozen other weapons offences.

Reiger is charged with a total of 10 firearms offences.

Lundy and Myles are charged with drug trafficking, possession and other drug-related charges.

Members of the Medicine Hat Police Service and local RCMP provided assistance to ALERT in the investigation.
