World famous Adventureman Jamie McDonald will be holding a public reading and book-signing at the Medicine Hat Public Library at 7 p.m.

McDonald is in the midst of a cross-Canada book tour to advertise his new book, “Adventureman: Anyone Can Be a Superhero.”

Fifty per cent of the profits from the sales of the book in Canada will go to a children’s hospital in the province McDonald is travelling through at the time the sale is made. The other 50 per cent will be donated to McDonald’s own charity, the “Superhero Foundation.”

Inspired by Terry Fox, Jamie McDonald is a world-record-holding adventurer, author and motivational speaker.

He was the first person in history to run the 5,000 miles from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast without the aid of a support crew, raising more than £250,000 ($600,000) for sick children in Canada and the UK. All this while donning the costume of his favourite superhero, the Flash.
