Public library showing movies over the Holiday Season

The Medicine Hat Public Library will be hosting Holiday family movie days every afternoon at 2 p.m. between Dec. 27 and Jan. 6 in its newly renovated theatre.

“It’s going to be a great way for us to show off the new space,” confirms MHPL’s head of marketing services Gillian Reimer. “Plus it gives families something to do if they want to leave the house. It’s something free, family-friendly and fun.”

The only days when a film will not be shown are Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, as the library is closed those days for New Year’s.

Reimer says the library is happy to offer this Holiday service to local families as well as visiting relatives from farther away.

“Money is tight after Christmas,” she says, “so it’s nice to have an option where you don’t have to pay anything and you can have some good entertainment.”

Check out MHPL’s website for more details on what films will be shown in the library theatre each day. The MHPL theatre will also be showing “The Santa Claus 2” starring Tim Allen on Saturday at 2 p.m.
