More ways to win with Kinsmen Home Lotto this time

The Medicine Hat Kinsmen Club Home Lotto 35 ticket drive is in full gear with the prize home, located at 80 Hamptons Cres., now open for viewing.

According to Adam Thompson, co-chair of the Home Lotto 35 committee, the prize home isn’t the only thing to be excited about this year: There are also more than $24,000 in early bird prizes, and more opportunities to win them.

“We only had one early bird draw in the past, and if people didn’t get their ticket by Dec. 24 then there wasn’t any motivation to buy a ticket until a week before the final draw,” says Thompson. “That was extremely stressful for us, because we never knew if we were going to make any money until the last couple of weeks of the campaign. We’re trying to sell out all our tickets this year, and so we are having a total of six early bird draws, January through March.”

Thompson says the Kinsmen are also trying to keep locals engaged in the ticket drive in another way: By shortening the time period of the campaign from late June until April 1 for the final draw date.

“We want to encourage people to get their tickets early, and we want to emphasize the campaign period is going to be shorter this year,” says Thompson. “There is a shorter window to get your tickets. That way people won’t forget we have this Home Lotto going on by the time we get to the final draw.”

As always, all money raised in Kinsmen Home Lotto 35 will be used to support local sports facilities and other community infrastructure. Thompson wants to encourage everyone to get out there and buy early this year.

“The house is ready for viewing now, we have a lot more early bird prizes than we have had in recent years, and this year we are doing the final draw much earlier on April 1,” he says.
