Alberta Newspapers Sask Party members in Swift Current will vote Monday on who will be their candidate to replace Brad Wall as the riding’s MLA. Wall, who has said he will resign as Saskatchewan’s premier in the new year, made his final appearance in the Legislature this week. A byelection to replace him as the member for Swift Current is expected in the new year after he officially resigns. Wall has represented the riding since 1999. The two riding candidates are Derek Robinson, who works in the premier’s office, and Everett Hindley, who has worked as Wall’s executive assistant. A contest to replace Wall as party leader, and thereby become premier, will conclude with a province-wide party vote on Jan. 27. 7
