Masterpiece Southlands Meadow seniors’ complex celebrated its official opening with a gala Friday night.

Tim Garforth-Bles, president and CEO Masterpiece Care Corp, said the project has exceeded his expectations. The 151,000 square-foot complex has 100 spaces subsidized by Alberta Health Services for long-term care and dementia residents. There are also independent living suites.

To the left of the entrance there is a Lava Java coffee stop ready for residents to enjoy a special coffee. The dining room boasts two-storey windows with a panoramic view, state-of-the-art grills, pizza ovens and an on-site bakery.

Garfoth-Bles is already planning phase two of the project that could be under construction within a year. It will provide another 80 units, with a different concept, independent living for couples.
