Medicine Hat News The Royal Bank of Canada is increasing its commitment to local youth entrepreneurship by donating $47,500 to Medicine Hat College’s Entrepreneur Development Centre. The funds will go toward growing and sustaining activities including the Start-up Company Seminar Series and the Student Start-up Company Pitch Competition. MHC manager of business development Tracy Stroud said the college is thankful for RBC’s long-standing support of the entrepreneurial activities happening on campus. “RBC recognizes the potential that youth entrepreneurship has in growing our economy, and we are excited to continue to partner with them,” Stroud said. In 2017, RBC made a 10-year commitment to the college’s seminar series and pitch competition to help foster local youth entrepreneurship. The additional $47,500 announced Thursday enhances those efforts. “Through this commitment,” said RBC’s southern Alberta regional vice-president Mark Brown, “and our partnership with Medicine Hat College and programs just like this, we aim to empower young Canadians to embrace a mindset of innovation and entrepreneurship with the goal of dreaming big, designing new solutions and creating a lasting impact in our economic landscape.” 7
