Medicine Hat News A Medicine Hat woman was sentenced to 150 days in jail for stealing from a Halloween costume store, and pepper spraying an employee. Bambi Dreaver entered guilty pleas Thursday at the Medicine Hat Courthouse, pleading down from robbery to theft under $5,000, as well as assault with a weapon and possessing a prohibited weapon. The 35-year-old was granted 93 days credit toward her sentence due to time served. Prior to this plea, not-guilty pleas had been entered and a trial set. Dreaver was arrested on Sept. 29, when Medicine Hat police were called to the Spirit of Halloween Shop located on Carry Drive. Dreaver and another woman — who has since pled guilty to theft under $5,000— were stealing costume items from the store, and when confronted by staff, Dreaver sprayed an employee with pepper spray. They fled the store, with the one woman remaining outside and being arrested by police there, while police arrested Dreaver further away. 8
