Prairie Rose School Division No. 8 board trustee Cathy Hogg (Ward 2, Elkwater, Irvine, Schuler and Dunmore) has been elected as the new president of the Public School Boards Association of Alberta. Hogg was elected to the presidency at the Nov. 17 PSBAA AGM in Edmonton.

“I am very humbled and honoured to be nominated and elected to this position,” said Hogg in a statement released yesterday. “The Public School Boards Association is committed to ensuring equitable and fair opportunities for all children across Alberta. The newly elected PSBAA executive will continue to work towards the goal of having public schools as the first choice in our communities, where children of all faith and values come together to learn.”

Hogg served as a vice-president of the PSBAA prior to her election as president. She was first elected to the PRSD board of trustees in 2013.
