Medicine Hat police on Friday released audio of a suspect in at least one of the incidents in anticipation that the public can assist in identifying the person. The audio can be heard below. On Thursday the Medicine Hat Police Service confirmed it now feels four separate bomb threats received the past two weeks at two different banks in the same Crescent Heights neighbourhood are linked, and officers are intensifying their efforts to run down potential suspects. “We don’t actually have a suspect but we believe it is the same person or persons for all the occurrences,” says Insp. Brent Secondiak. “The similarities are striking.” The latest threat came in Thursday afternoon at about 2 p.m. at the CIBC bank on 8th Street NW when an individual called the bank to say there was a bomb present in the branch. The Servus Credit Union nearby has also been targeted by these threats. Anyone with information can call the tip line at 403-502-8909 or leave a web tip at http://www.medicinehatpolice.com. The tips can be made anonymously or contact information can be provided for follow up. Police also said Friday that a “nexus between the recent bomb hoax’s and the November 9 armed robbery has not been made.” Police believe the incidents to be unrelated, but all possibilities are being considered. 7
