Special ceremony to honour veterans at Hillside Cemetery on November 7

A special ceremony honouring veterans will take place at Hillside Cemetery on Nov. 7 from 10:15-11:30 a.m., and the public is welcome to attend.

The organization, No Stone Left Alone, has arranged for all 104 students at St. Thomas School to participate and place poppies on the headstones of all those buried in the Field of Honour, said Trish Richard, one of the organizers.

“We have over a thousand poppies that we’ll be placing,” said Richard.

It will be the type of ceremony that typically takes place on Remembrance Day, said Richard.
