By Medicine Hat News on November 2, 2017.

A Winnipeg man arrested for two bank robberies in Medicine Hat and three others in Regina, has a bail hearing now lined up for Nov. 9.

Stephen Vogelsang, appeared before court from the Medicine Hat Remand Centre Thursday, with Lethbridge-based lawyer Greg White officially coming on the record to represent the 53-year-old for the bail hearing only.

With disclosure now received by defence counsel, the bail hearing was set.

The arrest of Vogelsang, a former CTV Winnipeg news director and sportscaster who also taught journalism at Red River College, made national news after his October arrest in Medicine Hat.

Vogelsang is accused of robbing two Medicine Hat banks on Oct. 19 and 20. In both cases, police report a man entered the banks, demanded money, and then left with an undisclosed amount.

Following the arrest, Regina police announced they were laying additional charges against Vogelsang for three bank robberies that occurred there in July and October.
