Barnes chosen as United Conservative Party finance critic

Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Drew Barnes has a plum role in the United Conservative Party caucus.

Barnes, one of the first Wildrose MLAs to endorse Jason Kenney to lead the party born of a merger between the Wildrose and the Progressive Conservatives, was named finance critic Tuesday.

Barnes tweeted it’s “Time to hold the speNDP government to account.”

Calgary-Foothills MLA Prasad Panda finds himself as the energy critic, Olds-Didsburty-Three Hills MLA Nathan Cooper is critic for community & social services and democracy & accountability, while Calgary-Greenway’s Prab Gill is the seniors & housing and multiculturalism critic.

Among southern Alberta MLAs Dave Schneider of Little Bow is the forestry critic, Cardston-Taber-Warner’s Grant Hunter is the labour critic and Pat Stier of Livingstone-Macleod is the municipal affairs critic.

Drew, to what will you hold the NDP government to account for? Forty years of arrogant conservative rule?
