Firefighters are set to honour fallen brother James Hargrave on Friday in Medicine Hat.

Following the 1 p.m. funeral service at Holy Family Parish on Friday afternoon firefighters will escort the funeral procession and the Hargrave family in a march to the Cypress Centre. The march is expected to take place sometime between 2 and 3:30 p.m. Temporary road closures will be required for the funeral procession and police urge motorists to use alternate routes during this time.

The procession route will go from Holy Family Parish and proceed northbound on 13th Avenue SE to Southview Drive, eastbound to Dunmore Road, north to 28th Street SE and then to the Cypress Centre.

Those wishing to pay respects to Hargrave are encouraged to line the route but are reminded that traffic lanes in the opposing direction will remain to open.

James Hargrave died in the line of duty Oct. 17 helping fight the wildfire near Hilda, Alta., and Burstall, Sask.
