Medicine Hat police believe a pair of bank robberies on Thursday and Friday are related.
Just before 7 p.m Thursday, Oct. 19 a man walked away from a robbery at the Royal Bank at 2901 13th Avenue SE in Medicine Hat with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Medicine Hat police responded to the incident but were unable to locate the the man, who was last seen travelling south on 13th Avenue SE. Police say the man the believe to be responsible is described as 50-60 years old with a large build and white/greying hair and a scruffy face. He was wearing a read and black plaid jacket, a dirty green ball cap with white on it and dark coloured pants and shoes. He left the scene in an older dark coloured truck.
The following day a robbery took place at the Bank of Montreal on Dunmore Road just before noon. The man again left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The man is believed responsible described as mid-50s, wearing a black hoodie and black ballcap and blue jeans. He’s further described as overweight and of average height with white hair and a “scruffy” face.
No weapon was seen or indicated and no one was hurt in either incident.
