Memorial service for James Hargrave announced

A memorial for James Hargrave, a rancher from the Walsh area who passed away on Tuesday after helping to fight a fire near Hilda and Burstall, will be held Friday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Rd. SE.

A reception will follow at the Cypress Centre at the Stampede grounds.

If you are attending the memorial service, at the request of the family, please do not wear black.

The Hargrave family released the following statement.

“We are extremely grateful for all the love, support & kindness from our friends, neighbours & community. James was a proud volunteer firefighter, rancher & steward of the land. But his love for his wife, children & family surpassed all else. Our hearts are broken at the sudden loss. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this very difficult time.”
