Medicine Hat man killed in accident involving cattle trailer near Elkwater

By medicinehatnews on August 24, 2017.

A Medicine Hat man has died after failing to negotiate a curve south of Elkwater on Thursday morning.
Redcliff RCMP say the 46-year-old man was about five kilometres south on Highway 41 when the single-vehicle accident occured at about 6:30 a.m.
Sources tell the news the man was driving a Ford F350 truck and pulling an empty horse trailer.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, but are warning of the hazards of driving by the accident scene to take photos.
Mounties on scene have already issued a ticket for distracted driving to a motorist who passed by while taking images with a smartphone.
“It is illegal, unsafe and disrespectful when driving through a collision scene to be taking photographs,” read a portion of the RCMP press release.
