A 27-year-old man was arrested early Sunday after people complained he had tried to run over a crowd with a pickup truck after a dispute had taken place.

The incident resulted in one person being dragged several feet and suffering minor injuries.

Officers attempted to arrest the man at the front door but he refused to exit his residence. Police obtained a warrant to gain entry into the residence and the man was taken into custody without further incident.

The Medicine Hat man is facing charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, dangerous driving and breach of probation. He was set to be brought before a Justice of the Peace for a bail hearing later on Sunday.

A second 19-year-old Medicine Hat man was also arrested for obstruction of a peace officer in relation to this incident.
