Impaired, dangerous driving charges for driver who smashed into two houses on Saturday

The driver of a 2013 Ford Explorer has been charged with impaired and dangerous driving after causing a combined $100,000 worth of damages in Ross Glen on Saturday evening. -- NEWS PHOTO MO CRANKER

Charges for impaired and dangerous driving have been laid against a 41-year-old Medicine Hat man who police say are responsible for driving his vehicle into a fence, house, vehicle, and then another house Saturday evening.

Police have charged the man with impaired driving, driving over .08, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. He was released from custody and will appear in court on Aug. 3. No name has been released by police yet.

The incident occurred on July 29, when emergency crews responded to the Ross Glen neighbourhood just after 10 p.m. for a motor vehicle collision.

Police say a 2013 Ford Explorer had left the street hit a fence and a house on Ross Glen Road S.E. While attempting to leave this scene the Explorer struck a 2014 Dodge causing damage to this vehicle. The vehicle then entered Rideau Place and struck a house causing significant damage to this house.

The approximate damages at this time are estimated at $100,000.
