Medicine Hat News Stage two of the roadworks on South Railway Street is almost complete, and stage three is about to begin. In a news release, the city says stage two included work on the water system, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems. There were new sections of curb and gutter and two layers of asphalt. Crews are expected to complete concrete, brickwork and new sidewalks this weekend. South Railway is expected to re-opening from Second Street to Third Street this weekend. Two-way traffic will continue on Third Street, between South Railway and Sixth Avenue. The three-way stop signs at South Railway and Third Street will remain in place until stage three is complete. Next week stage three will commence with the closure of South Railway Street and the Fourth Street intersection. Access to downtown from the South Railway will be maintained from Fifth Street SE. Completion is expected sometime in September. 7
