Toddler injured by truck at Elkwater

A two-year-old was transported to Calgary Hospital with serious injuries after being run over by a pickup truck in Elkwater this past weekend.

Redcliff RCMP responded to the scene on July 15 at 11:42 a.m., where it was determined that a white Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck was travelling at a slow rate of speed in a northwest direction through the main parking lot across from Buglar’s restaurant and subsequently ran over a two-year-old boy.

The child sustained serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to the Calgary Children’s Hospital. RCMP reported on Monday that the child is still in hospital, and is expected to recover.

Police are continuing their investigation but at this time no charges are expected to be laid.
