Child pornography, firearms charges for Medicine Hat man

A Medicine Hat man is facing child pornography charges and firearms following an investigation by the ALERT Internet Child Exploitation unit.

A warrant was executed on July 13 with help from MHPS after a referral from the United States National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding someone form Medicine Hat uploading child pornography to the internet. Electronic devices were seized from the house and initial searches found close to 3,000 child pornography images on them. A sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun was also seized.

Tyler Falkeisen, 32, has been charged with possessing child pornography, accessing child pornography, making child pornography available, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon and unsafe storage of a firearm. Falkeisen appeared in court July 14 and was released on recognizance with several conditions including not possessing and cameras/video recording devices, computers or smartphones and to not have internet access at home and to not have contact with anyone under 18 years old without adult supervision.

Falkeisen was not in any position of authority with children and there is no evidence to suggest he was in contact with children.
