Driver, several animals killed after cattle hauler rolls in canal near Brooks

Alberta Enivronment is reporting that a cattle hauler rolled into an irrigation canal near Brooks on Friday morning, leaving the driver dead.

A report states that the loaded cattle liner was involved in a single motor vehicle accident fatality when it rolled into an irrigation canal.

Approximately 400 litres of diesel fuel was spilled into the water and several animals were killed. Some others have been euthanized.

Local fire crews have placed booms in the canal to contain the product, and vacuum trucks are on scene to recover the fuel.
