With the warm weather here to stay, Framers’ Market season has officially hit the Hat.
Saturday marked the first Saturday of 2017 with a Farmers’ Market held at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, with this being the 20th year of the markets in Medicine Hat.
Market co-ordinator Doreen Gunderson says she is very excited for what the year will bring.
“The first market of the year is always something I look forward to,” she said. “We have been doing this Farmers’ Markets for a very long time and people really do love them.”
Gunderson says the markets have stuck around for so long because of a desire to support local businesses.
“People really do love supporting locally owned and operated businesses,” she said. “We aim to offer the best products that we can every Saturday. People have really responded well over the 11 years I have done this and I am looking forward to the year.”
Gunderson says more than 2,000 people attended this week’s market.
