Flood watch in effect near Havre, Montana

By Medicine Hat News on March 22, 2017.

A flood watch for north central Montana is expected to continue until late Thursday as ice in the region’s rivers continues to break up.

Minor flooding is reported on Lodge Creek, near Havre in Hill County, and the Milk River, near Harlem, according to the U.S. National Weather Service office in Great Falls. The watch was issued in the morning hours of Monday when levels on both water bodies approached what is considered flood levels.

Authorities say the watch will remain in place until water levels subside, which could occur sometime late on Thursday.
