Brief court appearance for Noah Bentley, charged in weekend homicide

By Medicine Hat News on November 15, 2016.

A Medicine Hat man facing second-degree murder charges after a weekend homicide made a brief court appearance Tuesday.

Noah Harrison Bentley, 26, appeared by CCTV from the Medicine Hat Remand Centre, with his next court date set for Nov. 29, to give him time to retain counsel.

Bentley was arrested Nov. 12 after police found a woman’s body in a residence on the 800 block of Third Street S.E.

The woman was identified as 53-year-old Brenda Woloski. An autopsy by the medical examiner was conducted Tuesday in Calgary, with cause of death expected to be determined from this. The accused and victim were known to each other, police said. As of Monday, the residence remained cordoned off as police continued to investigate, process the crime scene, and collect evidence.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact the MHPS at 403-529-8481 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

It’s the third homicide this year in Medicine Hat.
