Remembrance Day services scheduled for Friday

Remembrance Day services will be taking place in Medicine Hat and surrounding areas on Friday to honour the men and women who served, and continue to serve, their country, as well as honouring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in war time.

The Robertson Memorial Branch No. 17 will once again be hosting its Remembrance Day service at the Esplanade. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with the service beginning at 9:45 a.m.

Once the service is complete, the Remembrance Day parade to Riverside Veterans’ Memorial Park will begin at the Esplanade at 10:40 a.m., with the service at the cenotaph starting at 11 a.m.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 6 in Redcliff will host its Remembrance Day service starting at 10 a.m. at the Legion (302 Broadway Avenue West). The service begins with a parade from the legion to Parkside School for a formal service, and ends with a cenotaph service at Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Park.
