The Canalta Centre may just have solved the question of what to buy for Christmas.

A concert by country star Brad Paisley on March 13 and an eight-show run of Cirque du Soleil’s Axel from July 30 to Aug. 2 were announced on Monday.

Paisley has been one of the top stars in country music for the past two decades. He’s had hits with “He Didn’t Have to Be,” “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song)” “Whiskey Lullaby” and “Start a Band.”

In his career Paisley has nabbed 15 Academy of Country Music awards, 14 Country Music Association awards and three Grammy awards, as well as 24 No. 1 hits.

If you can’t get enough of Paisley, his new variety special “Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special,” airs tonight.

Cirque du Soleil returns to Medicine Hat following the success of the Crystal show in 2018.

The Canalta Centre’s Facebook page invites you to “Join Axel and his adrenaline-fueled crew on an exhilarating adventure as his passion for music and graphic arts takes you on an electrifying journey.”

Spectacular skating, breathtaking acrobatics, live music and stunning graphics are promised.

Public ticket sales for Brad Paisley begin Friday and tickets for Axel go on sale Wednesday.

Tickets will be available at ticketmaster.ca, or in person at the Canalta Centre box office and the Medicine Hat Mall Canalta Centre kiosk.
