Wrestling show, rock concert announced by Canalta Centre

The Canalta Centre is body slamming its way in to 2019, with two event announcements on Monday.

First up World Wrestling Entertainment returns to Medicine Hat on Feb. 3. Billed as Pre-Game Pandemonium, an intercontinental championship match between champion Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose is scheduled to headline. The announcement also notes a tag team match featuring Finn Balor and Elias against Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley. Superstars Braun Strowman, Sasha Banks and Baron Corbin are also mentioned.

The show’s date falls in what’s generally the most exciting time on the WWE calendar. Many storylines for the company’s biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania on April 7, begin to crystalize at the Royal Rumble, which takes place on Jan. 27.

The first bell will ring at 2 p.m.

On April 29, Godsmack and Volbeat will rock the Canalta Centre.

Godsmack, a four-time Grammy Award nominee, released its seventh studio album, “When Legends Rise,” in April of this year.

Danish rock band Volbeat has released six studio albums, the most recent being “Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie” in 2016.
