Hatters will want to be in front of a TV, or at least have the PVR set, on Sunday evening.

That’s when a special tribute to Terri Clark will take place during the CCMA Awards, according to a story in The Hamilton Spectator this week. Clark is a 2018 inductee into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, for which a private industry ceremony is to take place leading up to the awards show.

“It is such an honour to be inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame,” Clark told ccma.org in June when the induction was announced. “Being celebrated as one of Canada’s most influential country musicians is a recognition I do not take lightly and one I will forever be proud of. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has been on this journey with me, especially my fans who I had the opportunity to celebrate with today.”

Fellow musicians Suzy Bogguss, Jessica Mitchell and Meghan Patrick will take the stage during the tribute to Clark.

Clark was raised in Medicine Hat and still has many connections here. She’s been back to perform and visit on many occasions, including two shows on her Back to My Roots tour in October 2016.

She counts five CCMA female artist of the year honours among her 19 total CCMA awards.

The CCMA Awards are taking place in Hamilton and will be hosted by Shania Twain.

The show begins at 6 p.m. MT.
