Canadian country music star Gord Bamford is diving into his upcoming tour, one which stops in Medicine Hat this fall.

Bamford, no stranger to the stages in the Gas City, will play at Ralph’s Texas Bar and Steakhouse on Oct. 19. It’s one of the early stops on his Honkytonks & Dive Bar tour, kicking off in Calgary on Oct. 17.

For someone who’s played at the Canalta Centre and the Esplanade in recent years Ralph’s may seem like a strange location. But it all makes sense when you consider the title of Bamford’s new single: “Dive Bar.”

Said Bamford in a release, “Honkytonks and dive bars are where I cut my teeth in this business and fell in love with country music and performing. It’s where I feel right at home,” said Gord Bamford. “I’m looking forward to getting back to my roots where it all began. Make sure to grab your tickets fast cause it’s gonna be a party!”

“Dive Bar” follows “Livin’ On Summertime”, “Ain’t It Grand” and the title track “Neon Smoke” as singles from Bamford’s latest album.

Bamford is a multi-time winner at the Canadian Country Music Awards, racking up wins for album of the year, single of the year and male artist of the year and 25 Top 10 singles in his career.

JoJo Mason, who played in Medicine Hat on Canada Day in 2017, will support Bamford on the majority of the tour, including the Medicine Hat date.

Tickets will be available at Ralph’s beginning Thursday.
