Tribute shows honouring two of the most-loved bands in music history are coming to the Esplanade over the next two weeks.

On May 16 the Reunion Beatles Fantasy Tribute tour presents a Beatles tribute with a twist. Instead of a tribute to the glory days of the Fab Four this show assumes all the members are still alive and have gotten together for a reunion. This allows the performance to include solo work from the four post-Beatles and the iconic tunes by the quartet.

Tickets, starting at $29.50 plus service charge and GST, are available at http://www.tixx.ca, by calling 403-502-8777 or in person at the Esplanade box office or the Medicine Hat Mall customer service desk.

The show comes together at 7:30 p.m.

On May 24 Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic returns.

The show recreates the band’s 1986 world tour, from the songs to the costumes, instruments and lighting cues.

Giles Taylor, in the role of Freddie Mercury, gets a leg up on other Mercury tribute artists thanks to Peter Freestone. Freestone was Mercury’s best friend and personal assistant and has shared his wealth of Mercury and Queen knowledge with production.

Tickets,$59 plus service charge and GST, are available at http://www.tixx.ca, by calling 403-502-8777 or in person at the Esplanade box office or the Medicine Hat Mall customer service desk.

The show must go on at 8 p.m.
