You’re going to wish you were at the Esplanade Saturday night, as “PIGS: Canada’s Most Authentic Pink Floyd Tribute” comes to the stage.

Formed in 2008 in Victoria, B.C., PIGS has spent a decade perfecting their act. The authentic gear, voices, mannerisms, lights, lasers, visuals, and the sound — recreated thanks to archival footage — the band aims to recreate the sound, feeling and live concert experience of the real Pink Floyd in their heyday: the 1970s.

With their Left + Right Canadian Tour, PIGS are bringing a rare treat for Pink Floyd fans: material that has rarely — if ever — been performed live by Pink Floyd, alongside other selections from the entire Floyd catalog, Floyd solo records, and classics from legendary albums like Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. Audiences can expect long, pyschedelic jams to such songs as ‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’ and ‘Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun’ as well as impassioned performances of emotional material like ‘Comfortably Numb’ and ‘Us and Them’.

PIGS has seven members including a backup singer and a saxophonist in most performances.

For tickets, visit tixx.ca. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
