Sydney Mae to perform in Esplanade lobby series

The next instalment of the Esplanade Lobby Series is set for Feb. 1 when Alberta-based singer-songwriter Sydney Mae performs in the intimate setting.

Mae, a winner of four awards at the North American Country Music Association’s International Competition in Tennessee in 2015 and multi-time nominee for female artist of the year and the fan’s choice award at the Association of Country Music in Alberta, has sung everywhere from rodeo stages to major festivals like Country Thunder and Big Valley Jamboree.

A singer whose vocals have been described as smouldering and intense, Mae is also being noticed for her songwriting. She recently had a song recorded by another Nashville artist for the first time.

Mae is happiest anytime she has a guitar in her hand and a song in her heart.

“There is a place where everyone can escape to and for me that place is my guitar, singing and playing and writing,” Sydney Mae says in her website bio. “I can go anywhere, be anyone and do anything; it’s the most amazing feeling.”
