Esplanade announces new shows for this year, early 2018

The Barra McNeils, Marc Cohn and The Kentucky Headhunters headline a new slate of performances announced for the Esplanade between now and the end of May 2018.

First up is a performance of “Victoria” on Oct. 23. It’s the story of a elderly woman who is losing her memory but not her heart and imagination.

The Barra McNeils take the stage on Nov. 26, followed by Medicine Hat native Ronnie Burkett’s The Daisy Theatre Nov. 29-Dec. 1 and the magic show Outerbridge Clockwork mysteries on Dec. 8.

In the new year married comedians Colin Mochrie and Deb McGrath bring their one-couple show on Jan. 28, followed closely by Marc Cohn featuring The Blind Boys of Alabama on Jan. 31. The Arrogant Worms are at the Esplanade on March 17, The Kentucky Headhunters on March 29 and folk duo Okee Dokee Brothers round out the newly announced concerts.
