Canadian music superstar Burton Cummings is returning to the Esplanade this fall.

Cummings brings his Up Close and Alone tour to the Gas City on Oct. 27.

His list of hits reads like a best-of-Canadian music. As the lead singer for the Guess Who Cummings belted out hits like “American Woman,” “Laughing,” “Share the Land” and “Clap For the Wolfman” and often was a writer or co-writer on the band’s songs. Later as a solo act Cummings had hits with “Break it to Them Gently” and “You Saved My Soul.”

Cummings, who played at the Esplanade in July 2014, has more than 80 gold or platinum record awards along with six Juno Awards and has been inducted into multiple music halls of fame in Canada and was named an officer of the Order of Canada in 2009.

Tickets go on sale on this morning and will be available online at http://www.tixx.ca, by calling 403-502-8777, and in person at the Esplanade box office or the Medicine Hat Mall customer service desk.
