Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, March 10, 2026

Ticked Off

Maybe our health-care system wouldn’t be so strained if our government quit scaring people away from getting vaccinations with their ridiculous unproven scare tactics that vaccines aren’t safe in spite of the fact they have been around for decades.

Ticked Off

That Facebook has shown how uneducated and illiterate some people are.

Tickled Pink

Current state of affairs would suggest if the U.S. agrees to be your friend you’d be well advised to run the opposite direction. A gentle hint to the APP.

Tickled Pink

I agree with the submission “don’t tell me what to do” attitude regarding vaccines. I am very fortunate to be intelligent enough to decide all by myself the importance of all vaccines.

Ticked Off

Here we go, we are going to jump in debt and build one of the ugliest solar projects in Alberta. They will raise our taxes to build it and increase our power rates when done. A council of liberals strikes again.

Ticked Off

So much at Drew Barnes. How could you possibly spend 53,528.32 for your election expenses? That is absolutely disgraceful of you and so glad I have never voted for you. Thank you for making these things public knowledge. (Editor’s note: In his defence he received the entire amount in donations. Should he not spend what people and businesses gave him for his campaign? Perhaps it’s actually a positive to know money spent does not automatically equate to votes gained.)

Tickled Pink

With the detailed reporting about civic election spending. Very illuminating how spending lots of money doesn’t guarantee a win. Makes it so more people can consider a run in the future. Local news matters!

Tickled Pink

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who worked so hard on finally making Co-op Place the Tigers’ home. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next. Everyone in the WHL will know for sure “whose house” it really is!

Tickled Pink

To share advice everyone can use, but our premier especially needs to follow since she is losing ground, losing face, losing public confidence: When you’ve dug yourself into a hole, quit digging (and taking the rest of us with you).

Ticked Off

I believe in Canada, science, public education, climate change, CPP, RCMP and vaccines. I guess I could never join the UCP.

Ticked Off

No way should Canada get involved the conflict with Iran. We have all seen how the U.S. uses misinformation to justify starting and staying in wars and conflicts. Such as in Vietnam, Gulf War, etc. No more Canadian military deaths unless there is clear evidence and immediate danger.

Ticked Off

Head south on Finlay Bridge. Notice how the bridge lines up perfectly with the avenue. So why did the city pour a big blob of concrete and put a sign in the middle of the northbound lane? Instead of driving straight onto bridge you have to enter at an angle. Why? Useless.

Tickled Pink

An extreme thank-you to the Brandon Wheat Kings staff and all the others who helped take care of our Tigers and their bus driver during this terrible time. WHL are family who take care of each other. God bless you all! Most heartfelt sympathies to his family.

Ticked Off

How did Israel take control of Trump and the White House? Just asking.

Tickled Pink

We have a lot of sources of information available to us today. I wish more people would explore those sources, and put their ego to the side while they do it. Trust in your discernment, you are more wise than you think you are.

Ticked Off

I will be if council passes a bylaw to allow residents to keep chickens in their yards. There is no need to add to noise and fecal matter within the city. If this passes, it will demonstrate yet again how a few noisy people get their way and we quiet ones have to live with the consequences.

Tickled Pink

So happy I made it to the opening reception in the Yuill Family Gallery at Medalta. It’s a lovely venue and this current art show is worth viewing.

Ticked Off

I want council to stop talking about having chickens in our city and just put the issue to rest, once and for all, by saying no to the concept.

Ticked Off

That WestJet is going to quit flying to/from Medicine Hat, after all the hype in the past couple years about bigger planes and a new schedule. The city reports the local airport “generating 379,000 trips” annually, but just how many of those are WestJet trips and how many are air ambulance, private planes and flight training? That number seems misleading.

Tickled Pink

There is a mural downtown that says “shop at YXH.” Ha ha ha. YXH is the IATA code for our airport. Yup. Shop there. (Editor’s note: Actually it says ‘Shop YXH’ and that matters quite a bit here, since using airport codes to describe cities has been a social media concept for at least 15 years. Sometimes it’s OK not to be in the exact demographic a marketing campaign is targeting.)

Ticked Off

About the proliferation of portable advertising signs throughout the city. Seems to be out of control on city property and private lands. They are very distracting and advertise for business not located on the sites.

Ticked Off

If my neighbour ever brings hens in their backyard. I’ve been raised on a farm and they are the most annoying thing to be around. They peck all day. Peck, peck, peck, peck.

Ticked Off

As Australia and other countries ban social media platforms for children under 16, Canada needs to also implement these changes to protect our kids. Rates of depression, anxiety and suicide have risen sharply in our country since the change to a screen-based life.

Ticked Off

We already voted on Daylight Saving Time a few years back. Wonder what happened to that? Our UCP government is so useless they can’t pass that but they can raise the prices of certain things with no problem. (Editor’s note: While narrow as can be (50.2%), the vote went to keeping the time change, so that’s what happened to that.)

Ticked Off

With all the cuts to disability and senior supports, I’m pretty sure Danielle Smith is being paid more than she’s worth. How about cutting all politician salaries in this province? Cuts from the top.

Tickled Pink

Very happy with our UCP government. Over the last two years Lethbridge has seen a 90% reduction in overdose deaths, and for the first time since 2017, zero opioid deaths were just reported for November. Proof that her approach of intervention and health-care support is working.

Ticked Off

If the last time crude was $100/barrel was June of 2022 and fuel was less than $1/litre, what the H is going on now? (Editor’s note: Gas prices in June 2022 reached record highs in Alberta, with an average per-litre cost in Calgary of $1.799 for the month.)

Tickled Pink

Good curling on Sportsnet, Koe v. Dunstone, new Team Canada.

Ticked Off

Maple Leafs captain is not living up to his price tag. Wrong guy is wearing the ‘C’ to start with.

Ticked Off

ChatGPT isn’t a viable option, anything AI is suspect to me after tragic outcome of B.C. school shooting. Leaves a bad taste when local radio station uses it for ridiculous questions. What kind of message are you sending to kids?

Tickled Pink

With the time change to Daylight Saving Time!
