Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Mar. 5, 2026

Ticked Off

Alberta has the majority of minerals, which includes oil and gas. How can we be running a deficit? I know, quit handing over the profits to large oil and gas companies. Take control like Norway has done. Separating will not solve the deficit, which is what the scoundrels want you to believe.

Tickled Pink

Very impressed with our new council willing to listen to citizen concerns and trying to work on addressing them.

Tickled Pink

If folks would just take a breath instead of trying to deny freedom of expression to the separatist cranks. You don’t have to listen, and freedom of expression also allows for freedom from it. Just like religion.

Ticked Off

People turning off Highway 1 onto First Street SE and barrelling through the playground zone between 4 and 5 p.m. I’ve rarely seen police there in five years. Are they not interested in why it was made a playground zone in the first place?

Ticked Off

It is nice Medicine Hat is getting 18 new ICU beds but doesn’t come close to the 54 Lethbridge is getting, plus they are getting a catheterization lab. Unless I am missing something it would appear Medicine Hat residents will still have to travel to either Lethbridge or Calgary for many diagnostics and treatments.

Ticked Off

At fuel price increases. The higher priced crude oil is actually still in the ground, so why the immediate increase in fuel prices? Greed and usury.

Tickled Pink

It was an absolute delight watching the mayor and city council effectively and collectively in agreement on positive motions, actions and forward-thinking initiatives. Faith in city hall is being restored, and growing hope for Hatters once again.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith and Mickey Amery have spent a lot of time attacking judges and claiming the appointment of federal judges “is not non-partisan.” But it turns out, not only are their complaints not based in reality, but their track record is worse.

Ticked Off

That in Medicine Hat stop signs are merely a suggestion.

Tickled Pink

At the world progress including AI. On the bright side of Bill 11, retaining doctors and nurses is easier. Patients are free to seek services on their own terms with their own resources. Everyday people may be to avoid long waiting lists, wait time for surgery, etc.

Tickled Pink

Impressed with some residential streets having no trailers or equipment parked in front yard. Sure makes your area look good! And thank you for not impeding the sidewalk.

Ticked Off

Why would I be jumping up and down for an MLA or premier who forgets her riding? Lip service, or is that generated by AI?

Ticked Off

That Alberta is filled with a stubborn “don’t tell me what to do” attitude. This is why we have lost our measles status, and now we are on record for the most deaths from flu. This should tell you this province has a lot of misinformed people. Plus, this stupid separatist movement is not helping.

Ticked Off

Counted 15 deer this morning across the street in NE Crescent Heights eating every shrub and tree they could reach, and come spring there will be double that number.

Ticked Off

That the UCP dismantled AHS into four separate ministries and then needed to create a fifth agency (Health Shared Services) to co-ordinate those ministries at a cost of $2.3 billion for HSS alone.

Ticked Off

That the latest UCP budget changes the threshold level at which low-income seniors might qualify for the AB Seniors Benefits, so thousands will be cut off from this important support.
