Tickled Pink It has been great to see the coverage of local curling bonspiels in our newspaper. Thank you to all the people involved in organizing and participating in these events. Ticked Off Medicine Hat College supporting separatists? There was hope at one time, but we have receded. This is further evidence. No wonder there has been no growth in decades in this backward town. Ticked Off I do not understand the problem with Rebel News renting a space in the college for an information session. It is just showing democracy. Ticked Off I am planning on separating myself from Alberta by moving to a more trustworthy province. Ticked Off No need to support various fundraising activities for institutions, such as our college, when they have the separatists prepared to do the funding for them. Ticked Off I am sure our MP Glen Motz shudders to think how unfair his $200,000+ salary is without an increase, while his constituents struggle with declining AISH payments and near minimum wage incomes. Tickled Pink With real event tickets. You don’t have to worry about your phone getting stolen at event, and after you have a little souvenir for your journal or album, or fridge. What fun. E-tickets are boring. Ticked Off At doctors’ offices that don’t post office hours on their doors. And I’m not talking about a flimsy piece of paper taped on the door, either. Tickled Pink With the Thursday special at DayzOff Pub. Great food and service. We’ll be back! Tickled Pink That Rebel News is coming here to tell the other side of the story, But I do not know why we would want a CBC propaganda so-called news station here. Ticked Off That we have Danielle Smith. People forget what the NDP did to this province. We are still paying the price for there bad move to shut down our coal power plants early. (Editor’s note: The last coal-fired power plant shuttered in June 2024, five years after the NDP were voted out. The government bragged about being done the transition six years early. Why did the UCP and energy companies expedite the plan if it was such a bad idea?) Ticked Off I am as against separatism as anyone. However, the people condemning the college need to get over it. That is what freedom of expression is. Do not like it, do not go. I certainly will not. Ticked Off I would be if they built the new plant for converting manure to power in Edmonton where most of the manure seems to be produced. Ticked Off Shocked that even in good old Medicine Hat my fellow citizens would try to ban free speech just because they don’t agree with what is being said. How about engage civilly? Only people who don’t want another side shown, because they have no ability for discussion, just ban outright. Talk about authoritarian. Ticked Off New GST grocery rebate will not solve the problem. The solution is to remove all GST on grocery. Ticked Off That the Rebel group is using a publicly owned facility to spread anti-Canadian agenda. Fortunately though, a majority of the attendees are already brainwashed, and the remainder are there for the comedy act. Tickled Pink I’m not certain separation is viable for Alberta, but those in favour are not breaking any laws hosting events and discussions. Quebec leveraged the threat of separation to great advantage back in the day. Those of us in our 60s and 70s would do well to remember this, along with not-so-fond memories of the financial impact Albertans have endured ever since. Tickled Pink To know if it’s true that most folks signing up to support Alberta leaving Canada are seniors. If so, have they given any thought to life without monthly OAS cheques? Tickled Pink Medicine Hat musical theatre’s POTUS is a laugh riot. The audience didn’t stop from the opening word until intermission. Everyone was great. Leah Steiner as Stephanie channelled Melissa McCarthy with her perfectly timed and voiced pop-up appearances! Tickled Pink Enjoyed the story about our two local past Olympians. Great memories for them. Congratulations to you both! Ticked Off At the tension in curling, it’s always been known as a friendly sport. What’s next, dropping the gloves and going at it on the ice like hockey? Tickled Pink Kudos to Premier Smith, 41,800 new full-time jobs created last month, new $10-billion data centre for Olds, Dow chemicals building a $10-billion petrochemical project in Fort Saskatchewan, and defeated eight out of nine bad laws imposed on our industries by Ottawa. 45
