I wish the committee for the Tigers would get some new entertainment between periods. Some of that stuff is getting really old like throwing T-shirts and the same old contest year after year.

Lets be clear that separation, or the mere concept, will make Alberta poorer because the entire economy here will crash domestically and internationally so I suggest you may get what you ask for.

Perhaps the Juno awards criteria should be adjusted so that only those artists living in Canada and performing here should be eligible for the awards. Those music artists resident in the U.S. should not be nominated for Canadian awards since they no longer represent us.

So here we go again. Donald Trump destroyed the education department, ditto Smith. Trump destroyed the health care in the U.S., ditto Smith even though it is one province. Trump destroyed judicial system, ditto Smith. She wants to set up another committee, so a few more of her friends can collect more money.

If someone doesn’t rein in Smith there will be nothing left of Alberta by the next election. Nothing she has done, or is doing, is in Alberta’s or Albertans’ best interests, and it is all it setting up Alberta to join the U.S. If you think we don’t get fair treatment from Ottawa wait until you see how we would get treated by the U.S.

Best thing to watch right now? Medicine Hat city council meetings that go live. For or against the pressing local issues, at least it’s not the deluge disaster of Trump 24/7.

Now that Fountain Tire has moved next to Toyota, the old building downtown is vacant. Wouldn’t that be a great location for a homeless shelter and resource centre?

What happened to discussion about our road design? Tons of separation comments have replaced concerns about quietly spending millions to narrow more city roads. It would be safer and far cheaper just to put a police car and hand out tickets. That always slows traffic. But why no comments? (Editor’s note: Are you wondering why people might be more concerned right now about separation sentiment than how wide the street is?)

If only our premier spent as much time trying to solve issues with health care as she spends trying to separate, she wouldn’t need a two-tier health system. But of course that would mean her friends would have to wait in line like the rest of us instead of being able to jump to the front of the line.

It makes me sad when local stores close due to lack of support from the community. Big-box stores do employ local people but the profit those stores make leave the community. It is sad to hear about another store closing.

Smith trying to force in right-wing judges just stinks of U.S. Trumpism. Is this what conservatives really stand for? Trying to erode our democracy at every turn? It baffles me when UCP supporters try to defend this.

No wonder Alberta doesn’t get anything from the federal government. The UCP opt out of every beneficial program the feds offer. A true negative effect to our people. If it isn’t Smith’s idea, she doesn’t want it. We suffer for it.

That people bring signs to council meetings and act like jerks. They should be kicked out when disrespecting the council after being asked to put their signs away. We need to trust our council, and compared to last year, I think this group is awesome.

Reading the article in the MHN on Friday that the average electric price is $37.86 MWh and our floor is currently $70 MWh, this math is not adding up and costing us users a lot of extra money on our utility bills.

I would be to know residents in our area have greater water security under anticipated warmer and drier conditions. However, historically the UCP is only proactive if oil and gas is involved.

Wow, the Lisa Brokop concert at the Esplanade on Saturday night was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. She was so real, genuine, with an amazing voice and songs that were so meaningful. A great band, too! Thank you!

What the H E double toothpicks is the MH College doing? Agreeing to host an Alberta separatist event? Hmmm, time to look at who are the board members and their affiliations me thinks. This is totally unacceptable. This event should not be allowed at a taxpayer-funded institution.

Tired of all this separatist talk. It’s dividing Albertans even more and distracting us from the other issues we should be concerned about. The health-care system is a mess. Social programs for our poor and disabled are a mess. I could go on. Yet, somehow this must be the fault of the Feds?

That our college is supporting an event, sponsored by group known for misinformation and hate toward immigrants, Rebel News. This does not reflect any standard of journalism or fact-based learning. They are supporting separatism, when our country is being threatened by the U.S. Do better. The college receives federal funding from all Canadian taxpayers, maybe it should reflect that.
