Tickled Pink To the nurse who administered our COVID and updated pneumonia vaccines the other day at the Health Unit, thank you so much. Tickled Pink A heartfelt thank-you to all the staff at St. Joseph’s for the exceptional care I received while in hospice and through my recovery. The compassion shown to myself, my wife and daughter helped us all through a difficult time. Tickled Pink Thank you to the acute care and occupational therapist team at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for helping me gain my strength back and giving me encouragement. Tickled Pink That members of the U16 Hounds hockey team visited my house over the Holiday Season to sing Christmas carols. Thank you boys and coaches for bringing the Christmas spirit to my doorstep. Tickled Pink With the local restaurants which have discounted breakfast specials! Tickled Pink By Rossco’s Pub supplying Christmas dinners for the needy, the Kiwanis Club for putting on the Christmas dinner for those that would otherwise be alone and to all the volunteers who helped raise money for the various charities and those who collected toys for the many children who may not otherwise have had any gifts. That’s the story of the joy of giving. Ticked Off Now we’re going to have to pay for more legal fees for our infamous mayor? The saga continues. Ticked Off Understand why the News wanted only Tickled Pink for a short time but ticked off that some of the posts included support for a premier who is now facing a recall petition. Ticked Off There were so many glowing comments about Danielle Smith in December that she doesn’t deserve. She seems to want to placate Trump or maybe even join the U.S. Not a good idea. (Editor’s note: There were like five over the entire month. We doubt it tipped the scales of separation.) Ticked Off Premier Smith is the worst thing that has happened to this province. She has not improved our health care or education system. Maybe even the opposite. The fact so many MLAs are facing recall petitions indicates a lot of warranted discontent. Please call an election. Tickled Pink With supporting local business even though gas bars are gouging us heavily right now. I hope other local businesses aren’t as greedy. Ticked Off At the proposal to build an outdoor swimming facility for millions, which is a waste of money given three months of use. The better choice would be a covered facility for year-round use. Tickled Pink With Bruce Penton’s Noteworthy column, one of the things I look forward to in my weekly News subscription. Sad to hear that last week was his last column, I will miss his witty opinions which was a guaranteed chuckle for me every week. All the best to Bruce in his retirement. Tickled Pink I would like to share my gratitude for the acts of kindness shown in the last couple weeks. Thank you to the kind customer at Walmart who helped me pick out allergy medicine for my husband. Also, to the two kind ladies working at Crescent Heights Co-op for their concern for my husband and getting him a chair to sit on while he waited for me. Tickled Pink That Alberta actually has an environment minister. But do they actually care about the environment? I doubt it. The new minister encouraged the Coutts border uprising. Tickled Pink We have a new council that should be good for the city. They seem to be a caring and competent group. All the best. Ticked Off The fact our government used the notwithstanding clause four times makes it obvious they do not respect democracy. Shame on them. We should demonstrate we do not like their attitude or this government and sign petitions to recall them. Tickled Pink By my wife with all of the baking she did to prepare for Christmas and the wonderful meal she prepared on Christmas Day, as well as all the other things she did hosting our company for three days. She is a wonderful cook and she did 98% of the work, thank you so much. Tickled Pink Maple Leafs had outstanding game without headliners. Go Leafs! Tickled Pink It was so heartwarming to read the story of Kara Frey receiving the Book Love Foundation grant. Her dedication is a real inspiration to all those who work hard to keep literacy at the forefront of personal well being. Ticked Off With the minority separatists. If you hate this country/government etc., and all its ‘problems’ plaguing you and your mind, then set sail and leave this ‘broken’ country and search for your utopia elsewhere. Stop attempting to force others to join your selfish agenda. Simply put, you go, we’ll stay. Ticked Off At the gasoline prices in Medicine Hat. Most stations in southern Alberta are selling gas for far less. What’s with the collusion going on here? Price of oil has been dropping, too, which means local gas stations see it as an easy money grab to charge more at the pump. Ticked Off At the big baby at the Timmies drive through honking and getting within an inch of bumpers. They should have been giving away free soothers. 47
